Baldness Cure
April 21st, 2009Losing your hair can have enormous personal repercussions. For many people, balding — also known as androgenetic alopecia — causes them to lose self-esteem and to be self-conscious of their appearance. They may believe they are no longer as attractive as they used to be. For those who have taken pride in their looks this can be devastating.
Some people will say there is nothing wrong with going bald, that we should accept who we are, and that society should conform to that. While there is some truth to that, it’s up to each person to maintain a certain level of appearance to have a social impact. The fact of the matter is, whether we like it or not, people with a full head of hair are generally considered more attractive than those without a full head of hair. However, those who are balding can do many things to offset their aging and still remain attractive.
Given the technologies and information we have available today, there are many options for those who are balding. We will examine various products and write about the latest developments in the search for a baldness cure.
Before you go out and spend thousands of dollars on hair transplant surgery (which can have complications), it may be best to try non-surgical alternatives first. One such alternative is Rogaine Foam (minoxidil). Numerous studies have shown, if minoxidil is applied twice a day consistently for several months, that a majority of men who are balding will benefit with hair regrowth or by preventing the progression of the balding. Many people who are balding have found it to be so effective that they do not feel they need to invest thousands of dollars on surgery.
Minoxidil is just one alternative. We will soon be discussing other alternatives for those who are experiencing hair loss, and we will continue writing and evaluating as science gets closer to a baldness cure.
